#205 Frontend Software Engineer
We are looking for a Frontend Software Engineer to join our developers team in Toronto, Canada. If you are passionate about designing and developing websites by employing the latest technologies in the market, you may be the right candidate to join our frontend designers team.
Your roles and responsibilities
- Contributing in website design meetings and brainstorming sessions with team leaders and technical managers
- Designing and implementing intuitive web-based user interfaces
- Making the website pages work with major browsers (IE6, IE7, IE8, Firefox, Opera, Safari and Google Chrome)
- Writing code and unit tests and deploying website to development, QA and production environments
- Constantly assessing the website and its behavior in terms of end-users' experience and making suggestions to improve this experience
Your qualifications
- Exceptional semantic HTML/XHTML and CSS skills
- Exceptional skills in unobtrusive Javascript/AJAX, including in-depth experience with Javascript libraries such as jQuery and YUI and debugging tools (Firebug, etc.)
- An encyclopedic knowledge of browser quirks and their remedies
- Experience integrating front-end code with server-side technology on a large-scale, dynamic website
- Experience developing applications on platforms such as OpenSocial and Facebook
- Passionate about learning new technologies and being able to demonstrate this capability
- Strong knowledge and skills in ASP.NET and C#
- Experience in working with Microsoft Visual Studio 2008
- Strong knowledge and experience in implementing SOAP/XML, web services and WCF technology
- Experience with Model-View-Controller frameworks such as ASP.NET MVC, Cake, Rails, etc.
- Experience in utilizing IIS 7.0 and Windows 2008 Server

Your roles and responsibilities
- Contributing in core team regular-basis team meetings and brainstorimg sessions with team leaders and technical managers.
- Architecting, documenting, designing, implementing and developing Windows and Linux applications.
- Designing RDBMS databases, tables and creating proper relationships among database tables.
- Optimizing database design.
- Optimizing queries by finding and fixing query bottlenecks.
- Utilizing and employing tools to analyze query performance and query plans.
Your qualifications
- Strong experience in Object Oriented Programming.
- 5+ years experience in Visual Studio .NET programming (particulary C#) and deep knowledge in .NET 3.5 built-in classes and objects.
- 5+ years experience in working with Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL and implementing SQL queries.
- 2+ years experience in working with Linux, PHP, Python and Apache.
- Experience in implementing WCF application servers is a preference.
- Experience and deep knowledge in LINQ, ADO.NET and ODBC.
- Experience in implementing multi-thread applications and thread safe classes.
- Strong skills in developing software architecture, user requirements and software requirement documents and writing technical specifications.
- Having experience in working and managing databases with millions of records is a must.
